Kindred Sanctum ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Black Candle Collective LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and website.

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account and use the app:

• Account information: email address, display name, and date of birth.
• Profile information: profile photo (optional).
• Content you create: store reviews, event RSVPs, and reports.
• Location data: approximate location (used for store discovery and distance calculations). We do not track your location in the background.
• Device information: push notification tokens for sending you relevant notifications.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Operate and provide the core features of the app (store discovery, reviews, events).
• Personalize your experience, such as showing stores near you.
• Enforce our Community Agreement and moderate content.
• Send push notifications you have opted into (event reminders, review approvals).
• Improve the app through anonymized, aggregate analytics.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Analytics

We use anonymized analytics to understand how users interact with the app. This includes aggregate data on feature usage, navigation patterns, and performance metrics. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with row-level security policies. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as required by law.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Profile > Settings > Delete Account). Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days.
• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Kindred Sanctum is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kindred Sanctum mobile application and website, operated by Black Candle Collective LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Kindred Sanctum. By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Community Agreement

All users must accept and follow the Kindred Sanctum Community Agreement, which sets standards for respectful conduct within the app. The Community Agreement is presented during account creation and includes rules around:

• Treating others with respect and honesty.
• No harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior.
• Keeping content appropriate and relevant.
• No commercial solicitation or spam.

Violating the Community Agreement may result in content removal, account muting, suspension, or permanent ban at our discretion.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post, including reviews, ratings, and event information. By posting content, you grant Kindred Sanctum a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content within the app and related marketing materials.

We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove content that violates our Community Agreement or these Terms.

5. Store Listings

Store listings in Kindred Sanctum are provided for informational purposes. While we work to keep information accurate, we do not guarantee the accuracy of store details such as hours, location, or game types offered. Store owners may claim and manage their listings through the app.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews or reports.
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
• Attempt to circumvent content moderation or account restrictions.
• Use automated systems or bots to interact with the app.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or the Community Agreement. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile > Settings > Delete Account).

8. Limitation of Liability

Kindred Sanctum is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Black Candle Collective LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
